Europe will be more crowded than ever this summer
Because American demand is so high for an overseas vacation, high season isn’t just in summer anymore
Hopper recently released their Consumer Travel Index for the first quarter of 2023, and according to the findings, 56% of U.S. travelers are searching for international trips this year, which is up from a mere 10% in 2022. Of those international searches, 34% of them are for European cities.
Key takeaways
- Europe-bound flights are averaging $801 roundtrip, 27% more from the same time in 2022;
- Transatlantic flight volume is now 10% higher than it was pre-pandemic and poised to grow further in 2023;
- This might be the year to consider under-the-radar destinations like Slovenia, Georgia and Romania.
