Hoteliers looking to boost direct sales in 2025 "shouldn't rely solely on rapid AI-based placements" as part of their marketing strategy, warned Mirai's Pablo Delgado during an executive panel at Phocuswright in Arizona last week.

Addressing the impact of AI on direct hotel distribution, Delgado stressed that "leveraging AI for first-mover advantage should be on your 2025 agenda, but it shouldn't be the sole focus for the year."

The panel, which explored the transformative role of AI in online travel distribution, also featured TripAdvisor president Kristen Dalton and Sojern chief revenue officer Noreen Henry.
