Jul 12, 2024

International arrivals to Spain in July and August have increased by 12% compared to the same period in 2023. Significant growth was recorded in the European markets: Italy (+53%), Austria (+23%) and the Netherlands (+23%), as well as from Brazil (+39%) and the US (+31%).

Key takeaways

  • Couples represent the largest share of travel group sizes, growing at a slightly above-average rate of 13%;
  • Short (+16%) and medium (+15%) stays are increasingly popular, possibly due to economic caution;
  • Long-stay trips, still the largest share, are growing at a slower rate of 5%;
  • Business trips are up 3%, while leisure trips, the largest share of travel, are up 15%.
